Getting Around Denver

The “Light Rail” in Denver is the easiest and most convenient way to move about the city. Only a 7 minute walk from the hotel, shuttles will also be provided to transport individuals from the hotel to the Light Rail station. Parking is free and stations are easy to locate due to their distinctive red and white signs on nearby streets leading to the stations. At each station, there are ticket vending machines where you can purchase a ticket. Tickets must be validated before boarding the rail. At the time of purchase, the ticket will automatically be validated with the date and time of purchase. For more information regarding the Light Rail, here is a Map of the Light Rail in Denver.

Going Green for the 2008 Democratic Convention

In an effort to make this the most environmentally-sustainable Democratic National Convention yet, House Speaker and Permanent Convention Chair Nancy Pelosi has coordinated the "Green Delegate Challenge" in conjunction with Convention organizers. The delegation with the highest percentage of members offsetting their carbon use will be recognized at the Pepsi Center during the convention and receive a special green prize. Delegates who offset their trip will be recognized individually on DemConvention.com. Though the alliance between the DNCC and Native Energy, delegates may obtain their carbon offsets through a range of community-based green energy projects.
