STATEMENT BY JOSEPH M. McNAMARA ON TODAY’S ASSAULT ON U.S. CAPITOL AND OUR DEMOCRACY
WARWICK, RI – “There are no words to describe the outrageous assault on our United States Capitol and democracy today, caused by the supporters of President Donald Trump. He bears full responsibility for the violence and destruction of the “people’s house” that his followers did, as he continues to stoke violence by refusing to accept the results of what was clearly a fair and free election,” Rhode Island Democratic Party Chair Joseph M. McNamara said. “America yearns for the decency and patriotism of President-elect Joseph Biden, and I couldn’t agree more,” he said.
